Community Bridging

Ceremony

WHAT IS BRIDGING?

Bridging is a Girl Scout ceremony that celebrates when a girl moves from one age level to another. Each level of Girl Scouting has special bridging activities (outlined in the age-level Girl Scout handbooks) to help make girls' transition to the next level a meaningful one.

Bridging activities are part of a Girl Scout's last year at a particular age level.  Each girl is encouraged to work on recognitions for the age level she is moving into, attend a meeting or activity with a troop or group at the next age level, participate in a service project or summer activity with girls from the next level, and to talk with girls or leaders who are already at that level.
